Hiatus

I know you've all missed me (Sister Lunn), but I am back, AND committed (until I forget again).

A few weeks back our house was actually broken into, and our beloved blogging machine (aka, our computer machine) was taken, along with our nativity set and bedspread. These were very specific criminals. I believe they just wanted a bit of Christmas cheer, a nice warm blanket, and a way to check their e-mail and watch Netflix.

Very specific things.

Anywho, we now have another computer machine, so let the fun begin!

A taste of what's to come...

1. Bridge's Baby Shower
2. 4 Years of Wedded Bliss
3. We Won the Lottery
4. Rem charged for Rigging the Lottery
5. Rem Charged With Murder
6. Yummy Whole Wheat Naan Recipe

As you can see, it has been hella busy around here. Remember when people used to say "hella" all the time? I don't' think I've ever actually used that word, but it just felt right.

So check back in a month or two for a post that will knock your socks off. But don't hold me to it, seriously.

Rem made his 3rd JOKE!

And the joke involved me being a crappy blogger. So here I am! I just needed a really cutting comment from the man who promised to love me forever and never make me feel bad about myself.

Car Accident

We had a pretty terrifying experience Saturday. Here's the story:

We were heading southbound on I-15 in Salt Lake coming from the I-215 in our Ford Explorer. We had our entire family, plus our 14 year old nephew who we were dropping off in American Fork.

Our car was in the far right lane going about 60-65 mph, a Wal-Mart semi was directly to the left of us, and a RAV4 SUV was on the left side of the semi. Rem had been watching the other SUV from his peripheral for a bit and knew that their lane was about to end. He then realized that the lane wasn't ending, it was ENDED.

He said something like "Oh my gosh!" which grabbed my attention. I looked over just as the semi clipped the other SUV, threw it in front of us, and then the semi swerved and hit us. We instantly started rolling it seemed. The witnesses said we rolled 3 times. We then slid across the 6 lanes of traffic on the drivers side for a few seconds before we popped up on our tires next to the median, facing North in the southbound side.

Rem and I looked at each other and saw that we were okay, and then I immediately looked back to check on Tyson, Seth, and Kenner. I saw Tyson right away but noticed that Kenner was not in his seat. My immediate thought was that Kenner had been thrown, but then he popped up from the far back and said "I'm okay!"

I couldn't see Seth because he was behind my seat and was in a rear-facing car-seat, but by this point 20 cars had pulled over and people had rushed over to check on us. A lady checked the back seat right away for me and told me that Seth was awake and fine.

Rem couldn't open his door so he crawled out of his window and then went on to check the kids, since I couldn't open my door.

I wondered how it was that Kenner ended up in the backseat for a while, then it finally dawned on me. I turned around and asked if he was wearing a seat belt, and sure enough he hadn't.

Tyson and Seth did not have one scratch, one bruise, anything on them. Rem was the worst with a pretty cut up elbow, and I cut my foot up a tiny bit, Kenner was absolutely fine.

I won't use the word luck, because I absolutely believe that it was a series of miracles that protected our family on Saturday. For one, our kids windows did not shatter. Another is that we landed so perfectly, upright and out of the way of traffic. And the most obvious was the fact that Kenner was not killed. I get emotional every time I think of it. The highway patrolmen told us that in his 30 years, he had never seen someone not wearing a seat belt in an accident like this walk away alive.

Not to get all sappy on you, but in all seriousness this could have ended up a lot differently. I know for a FACT that Heavenly Father saved our family that day. I'm so grateful for that, and especially for the knowledge that had things turned out differently, it still would have been okay. I'll be with my family forever, and this experience just made me realize how fragile life really is and how in an instant it can change here in this life. Our testimony's were given a swift kick in the pants that day, and I'm okay with that.

OH, and if you're wondering what this is, we had just come from the bread store, not 5 minutes before. We had 20 loaves in the back for our family reunion next week. It was strewn across the highway and smashed to smithereens. But that's okay, i'll take the 30 dollar loss any day.

The boys are back

Kim and Shane have returned from their adventures in Grenada, and I don't know who's happier... parents, or young-uns.

Tyson and Jeremy

It's gonna be an insanely cute summer.

Futbol

I almost met David Beckam.

That is to say, I wasn't even close to meeting David Beckam.

However, we went to a Real Salt Lake game, and they played the LA Galaxy.
Apparently David and LA are no more.

SOOO ANYWHO, we got some tickets with 3 of Rem's co-workers and their wives from a business contact of theirs, and it was posh treatment from the get-go. (See what I did there with the word "posh"?)

We had box seats, which included dinner, and ice cream. Ice cream people!
I mean, where else am I going to get ICE CREAM?!
You could tell we don't hob-nob much.
When the waiter came and asked what we'd like to drink, Rem asked
if he could check the back for some apple juice...
There wasn't any.

The game was a ton of fun, I think I watched all of 2 minutes of it.
If I remember correctly, we actually lost.

But I still had a blast without the kiddos. So, WIN.

Daaaaaaaaa Bulls.

We went to Chicago a few weeks back. Rem had to "work" there, and I just like to tag along.
We left Tyse-Meister at Kirk and Christy's, and brought Seth with us.

He was a champ on the plane.
Giordano's. Don't worry, we got a Chicago style too.
Had to try out a dog. Tomatoes make it healthy.
How did this get ........
Sears Tower with my cousin Angie.
We had a pretty great day just bumming around the city.

CHICAGO HAD IT ALL.

...Wildlife...
...Jurassic Park...
AND!!!
Every bean counter's Mecca...
the bean of all beans...
that big thing from Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhall and I'm sure lots of other movies...

the, uh...really big bean.

Thanks Onset, for a lovely week!

Happy Birthday!!!

No Lauren, get off your high horse. Not everything is about you today.

(And I understand the expression is not applicable here, but seriously, GET OFF!)

Tyson had a birthday 2 months ago, and I think we've surpassed the blog post grace period for said event.

So we actually threw him an official "party" about 3 weeks before. I was 9 months pregnant and was not interested in throwing a big thing a week after giving birth. Plus I didn't want the baby stealing Tyson's thunder. It's like, hold your own head up already!

On his ACTUAL birthday, we happened to be up in Boise visiting Doug and Tonia's family, and they showed us a great time! Lucky for Tyson, they had a lot of fun places to show us like the aquarium...

 ...the ice Cream shop...

 ...and the park!!

I love this little boy more than I can say, and he just gets cuter and cuter everyday.
I just made a poem.

Spawn of Satan by night...

...cutest human being on the planet by mid-morning.

We had a rough night with Mr. Tyson last night. He pretty much screamed the ENTIRE night while we did our best to try and ignore/not smother him.

I knew he wouldn't make it long today, that the sleep deprivation would get to him. When I noticed it was just a little too quiet in the other room, I thought I should go check and see what he was destroying.

Here is what I found.

A bundle of blankets, stuffed with a little boy.

Sometimes I just want to beat him. Other times I just want to kiss him forever, ignoring the fact that it may be causing weird, mommy issues in the future.

Baby Blessing

I never remember to document the important things in life with my camera. It's always things like, Tyson sitting in a laundry basket in my room while I try to figure out how to work my camera (I've got lots of those!). And when I finally get it, I put it away and think, "PERFECT! Now i'll know how to do that for next time!"

The "next time" is usually the same as that time.

Anywho, we DID get a picture of our family (just one) on Seth's blessing day Sunday. And I know what you're thinking...that Tyson is one photogenic kid!

AGREED.

It was a great day, and we had a lot of family come and celebrate with us.

Except for Lauren, who obviously has never learned the importance of family.

Seth Ruger Atwood

Move over Kirk. January is no longer your month alone! The little man has arrived. Seth was born January 31st, at 2:48 a.m. And I could not be happier to have this thing out of my body.

8lbs 6oz, 21 in.

New big brother
This delivery was infinitely more comfortable than Tyson's was, and recovery is a breeze. We couldn't be happier to have Seth join our brood.

Christmas has come and gone again! Le sigh...

We had a nice relaxing  Christmas Eve. Rem made a huge pan of cheese ziti, and it was de-lish. Then the 3 of us watched Elf, which I think Tyson enjoyed. Mostly because he never gets to watch good TV...just Number Time, or "Peep", as he likes to call it, on Netflix.

We then attempted to read the Nativity story from the bible, which was mostly me yelling at Tyson to "pay attention dang it, we are learning about JESUS!!!"

It was good fun.

Christmas morning was great. We enjoyed a lazy time at home opening presents and eating yummy breakfast-esque food.

Horsey was a huge hit from Nana and Papa Cizmas.
Who would have thought there was
another saw out there for Remington to own?

Later Christmas Day, we went and saw Les Mis (which was great by the way). I've never seen so many Atwood's cry in one sitting. To be honest, it was kind of embarrassing. Like, pull yourself together, embarrassing.

Then off to Joe and Kati's for some yummy Gyro's and JCW's fries. Yes please.

I'll leave you all to admire our beautiful family Christmas card. Hot family, no?

I made it extra-large, so it is impossible to miss our beautiful-ness.
Thanks Lauren!
